Photographs

The training, the campus and the town

Every photograph here was taken at our campus in Tapovan or within walking distance of it. Nothing on this page is stock.

In the hammock

Practice sessions in the bamboo hall and in the forest clearing behind the campus.
  • A trainee resting quietly in a soft aerial hammock among the trees
  • A supported backbend over the hammock, feet grounded on the mat
  • An inverted straddle in the hammock, hands open to the floor
  • Savasana in the cocoon — the hammock fully wrapped and closed
  • Seated meditation suspended a few inches above the ground
  • Supported pigeon pose with the back leg resting in the hammock
  • A trainee laughing mid-backbend in the hammock
  • Trainees of different ages and body types practising side by side in hammocks
  • A supported headstand practised on the mat before taking it into the fabric
  • The closing relaxation at the end of a practice session

The campus and your room

Where you will sleep, eat and study for the length of the training.
  • The bamboo community hall where the aerial sessions are held
  • Inside one of the bamboo cottages — bed, window and a place to put your things
  • The shaded veranda looking out over the valley
  • The garden path leading through the campus to the office
  • A sattvic vegetarian meal served at the campus

Rishikesh and the ghats

Tapovan sits ten minutes' walk from the Ganga. Morning practice by the river is part of the week.
  • Tree pose on the ghats at sunrise
  • Warrior pose on the bank of the Ganga
  • Camel pose on the steps near Ram Jhula
  • Morning practice with the Ram Jhula bridge behind
  • Pranayama practice by the river at first light

Finishing the training

Practicum, the closing ceremony and the certificate you leave with.
  • A trainee teaching the group during the practicum
  • A hands-on adjustment given during a practice session
  • The tilak blessing at the closing ceremony
  • A graduate receiving her certificate at the end of the training
